The rules are simple. The number is not.
"I overpay just to be safe."
Money that could fund your business sits with the IRS until next April.
"I guessed low and got a penalty."
The IRS charges for paying too little during the year, even when you pay in full by April.
"My income is different every quarter."
Three clients one quarter, five the next. Last year's number no longer fits.
How it works
Connect your accounts.
Income and expenses come in from your bank and cards, read-only through Plaid.
Your estimate stays current.
As payments land and deductions are found, your projected tax for the year updates with them.
Pay the right amount on time.
Sumly reminds you before each of the four deadlines and shows exactly what to pay. You pay the IRS directly from your own account.
An estimate that shows its work.
Open any estimate and see the income and deductions behind it, down to the transaction. You never have to take the number on faith.
